Spirituality with Dr Steve
Many in recovery are introduced to the concept of spirituality for the first time as they get sober, and many are at a loss about how to access and utilize spiritual principles.  Through a combination of psycho-education, process, shared spiritual experiences (both positive and negative), and mutual encouragement, participants become able to find out what spirituality means to them.  They then feel safe and able to put spiritual beliefs into action in their recovery and in their lives.

The Four Agreements Group
The Four Agreements have been passed down for thousands of years in the ancient Toltec culture and were published in 1997 in bestselling book by Don Miguel Ruiz. They ask us to be Impeccable with our word, to take nothing personally, never to make assumptions, and to always do our best. The intention of the agreements is to help us appreciate people more fully, to live more presently and to move away from unnecessary fears and concerns. They challenge us to alter our dysfunctional patterns of communication and teach us to speak more clearly. These simple guidelines are connected in many ways to the fundamentals of the 12 steps and have helped many to establish and maintain healthy relationships.

Family Group Description
One80 Center offers families an individualized and multi-dimensional program that is specifically designed to address the needs of those with loved ones in the beginning stages of recovery. One important aspect of this family program is a psycho-education and multi- family process group every Saturday that is facilitated by our family therapist. This group focuses on developing an understanding of the complexities of addiction as a family disease and the impact addiction has on the addict and the family. In order for true recovery to occur the entire family of the addict or alcoholic must also work towards changing their own patterns, which often includes patterns of enabling and co-dependency. In our family group families will learn tools to implement to help themselves and their families grow towards health and happiness.  During the psycho-educational group, and individual family sessions, families and clients will also learn healthy forms of communication. The goal of the family program is for clients and their families to learn tools to serve as the foundation for each family to begin using appropriate coping and relapse prevention skills so that successful healthy family dynamics can be restored.
